Toby Boyles-Thomas - July 2008, 10 years old
Toby, I love you and hope you're able to finally run and play as much as you want now. You brought so much love, companionship, and joy into my life. Taking special care of you the last few years was my pleasure. We'll be together forever in my heart.
Valentino John - aka Valle Boy - July 2008, 5 years old
You came to us as lonely pup from the pound. From the first night we shared a house and a bed. Your soulful eyes always said more than any words ever could. You never failed to bring light into a room and I can only hope that when my time comes we will again find ourselves asleep on the couch. I thank you for leaving a part of you behind with Anna-Belle Lucy - our promise is love them as only doxie lovers can. Sleep well until we meet again.
Sabrina - a.k.a. Beanie Weenie - July 2008, 14 years, 2 months old
Words that describe Sabrina: loving, friendly, loyal, easy-going, cheerful, playful, smart, and special. Sabrina was one in a million her fighting spirit continued till the end. She left everyone in ruins including the vet that treated her for years. Bina is sorely missed and could never be duplicated. Hopefully she's in a better place with her brother Max (June 2002) and watching over her most loyal companion, her daddy!
Oscar - July 2008, 7 years, 11 months old
Probably the nicest dog I ever knew, Oscar was a big sweetie. Food was, of course, his downfall. If there was food around, he would eat it.
I remember the day we brought him home, his older brother Surf was not pleased. Immediately he bit him on the nose and put him in line. For the next severn years, he would be second to Surf in command.
After we started feeding him human food...that was it. Twelve pounds went to 25 and then eventually he got up to 48 pounds. He would eat one of those cesar foods in less than 30 seconds, all you would have to do is throw it in his mouth. With such a cute face nobody could resist feeding him.
So that one fateful day in June of 2008 was his last day of walking. We let him outside, he walked down the stairs, fell, and never was happy again.
Next day he couldn't walk, and was completely paralysed from the neck down. We kept him for a few days like that hoping he would get better, but unfortunately his day had come.
So that one fateful July 4th it was all over. We gathered him up and my dad took him to the vet as I was too upset. We said our goodbyes and that was it.
Oscar, we all miss you so much, especially your brother Surf. He is now twelve-and-a-half so you would be ten-and-a-half. Unfortunately he hurt himself going up stairs the other day so he isn't doing too well. He isn't the same without you...he misses when you were brothers.
Oscar, your urn will always be with us, with a picture of you sitting in the front. Once your brother goes, we will get both your urns and release you on your favourite place in the world, Lake Wahnapatei, where you dogs would eagerly wait for me to catch a fish, just so you could bark at it.
I wish I could just give you a treat....
